PUBLISHED:  Jan 30, 2015
DESCRIPTION:
I was lucky enough to see these wonderful musicians years ago. They were gracious, informative, and beyond belief musically! This is Ulali singing Pura Fe's song, "Mahk Jchi" from their album of the same name. Tape released in 1994 & cd in 1997. Enjoy! Vintage photos are from 1900 - 1908. Ulali Members: Pura Fe, Jennifer Kreisberg, Soni Moreno

English translation:

A hundred years have passed
Yet I hear the distant beat of my father's drums.
I hear his drums throughout the land.
His beat I feel within my heart.
The drum shall beat
so my heart shall beat.
And I shall live a hundred thousand years.
