Jef is a Texan born singer-songwriter who has made many stops in his travels including New Jersey, Maryland, New York, and finally ending up in Washington DC at the age of six, where he grew up. As a child, Jef was inundated with classical piano lessons which resulted in his ability to develop melodic hooks that not only draw in listeners, but also has them singing the same melody for days to come. At 20, he decided to focus on writing original songs and performing them at venues along the East Coast. In support of his new EP "Out of Focus" (2006 produced by Nate Greenberg Music, The Animators, and Mark Williams), Jef tours extensively and has recently played at the following venues: 219: DC Acoustic Underground Showcase (VA), Café Vivaldi (NYC), Grog and Tankard (DC), Firehouse Grill (VA), IOTA (VA), Jammin Java (VA), and the Livingroom Lounge (Brooklyn, NY).

OH COME ON!!!! IF YOU'RE NOT DANCING YOUR ASS OFF AFTER LISTENING TO "ONE HELL OF A CITY" YOU ARE EITHER DEAD OR DEAF!!!!.
-Michael Yugo, director of the DC Acoustic Underground Showcase (05/07)

DC's own Jef arrived with a trio and played his WLSC 2007 hit "Rosie." The rest of his material displayed his pop sensibilities song after song. It's no accident that Phil Galitzine (of the now-defunct Animators) is on bass; that pop group helped produce Jef's record and the two acts have similar, endearing styles. Good set! "If you write more songs like that (Time's Up), you're gonna get a record deal."
-Mark Hudson, singer/songwriter and producer for Aerosmith, Hanson, Ringo Starr and others
