"Leech" was originally written by Green River.
History says that this song was given away by Jeff Ament to Buzz Osborne. Ament thought the song was too simple therefore a throwaway.
Ironically, Ament has been saying in late interviews regarding the Green River reunion that the first demo (which includes "Leech" and "Baby Help Me Forget", amongst others) features the best songs the group has written.
