Jeff Hurst instills hope for the so called “out of Towner’s” that strive for success in songwriting but do not have the opportunity to reside in Nashville. The ambition and drive has brought his songs from the obscure country music scene in Central Florida to the famed streets of Music Row.

Raised in Apopka, Florida, Hurst began songwriting near the close of 2003. A self taught guitarist, Hurst spent countless hours honing in on his craft drawing inspiration from every angle of his life. He has always strived for the creative lyrics that would live with the listener long after the music has stopped. Hurst got his start playing his original material at local Orlando venues and when the opportunity arose to demo his first few songs in Tennessee, the fuse was lit. Jeff would play enough shows to afford him the cost of traveling to and from Nashville every other month so he could work on building his catalog.

As a developing writer Hurst continued to record his material and find his place among Nashville’s hit makers. The first key contact Hurst made was with BMI’s David Preston, whom in turn would later introduce him to Dan Hodges. Along the way Hurst pitched his material to anyone who would listen and was able to have songs placed on hold for various major label projects. When not in Tennessee, Hurst continued climbing his way up the list of singer/songwriters in Central Florida. He has been able to open for numerous headlining Nashville acts and took the lead as head of the songwriter’s chapter with the Florida Country Music Industry. As Jeff networked his way down the streets of Music Row in hopes of finding a home for his music it was a phone call from Mr. Preston to Dan Hodges in late 2007 that would turn the tides.

Pounding the pavement of Music Row with persistence and perseverance paid off in 2008 when Hurst inked a deal with Par Music / Dan Hodges Music.
