Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791)

Divertimento for 2 Violins, Viola, Bass, and 2 Horns in D major, K. 334 (1780)

00:00 - Adagio
06:19 - Menuetto - Trio I - Trio II

Performed by Jean-Pierre Rampal (Flute), André Cazalet (Horn), Jean-Michel Vinit (Horn), and Trio Pasquier: Régis Pasquier (Violin), Bruno Pasquier (Viola), and Roland Pidoux (Cello).

"The multiple-movement Divertimento K. 334 was written between the summer of 1779 and the summer of 1780, presumably for the Robinigs, a patrician Salzburg family, and friends of the Mozarts; it was possibly in honor of their son Sigmund's graduation from university. Originally scored for two violins, viola, double bass and two horns, we find here a flute substituting for one of the violins." - Ulrich Tank
