DESCRIPTION OF THE SHOW
We search the DMV for the top vocal artists. All students at local area middle schools and high schools. These talented contestants are given a once in a life time opportunity to compete on “The O” and win a record deal. The DC area is known to harbor immense musical talent, yet only a few local artists have been able to break into the mainstream. With the advent of social media, the talent pool is becoming more competitive and globalized. Music programs in DC-area schools offer students the ability to hone their skills and craft, but cannot offer the exposure every music artist needs to be noticed. “The O” bridges that gap. “The O” offers local young vocalists an opportunity to showcase their vocal skills, express themselves with original music, secure a record deal, and produce a four song EP. This TV program will give students a real chance at a successful music career, highlight the vibrant musical talent in the DC community, and raise awareness about the importance of high school music programs. The Opportunity is committed to community, mentoring our youth, showcasing and supporting local talent, and promoting music education in our schools.
