NEC Alumni Inspiration Series

Success in Aboriginal Education is not something you hear about every day, unless you are at the NEC Native Education College. After 40 years of providing a culturally rich and supportive learning environment for Aboriginal learners of all ages. Knowing that Aboriginal youth face a difficult path to success in education we looked to those who had blazed this trail for inspiration, and we found it.

We conducted interviews with NEC Alumni who are now Authors, Juno Nominees, and University Directors to name a few. Each interview was over an hour long and the knowledge and wisdom that was shared by each Alumni was incredible to witness. This video highlights some of the thoughts that Jason Burnstick, a Juno Nominated and CAMA Award winning musician, had on the education, role models, and success.
