'No More Smiles' - ENTERTHELION - Video
PUBLISHED:  Aug 27, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
This song, 'No more smiles,' comes from the debut album of Enterthelion. The album is entitled, 'Gun'. Enterthelion is the solo project of singer-songwriter, Jason Olivier.

This video was shot and performed in the VPG corridor. VPG stands for Victoria Park Grey, which is a Primary School in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. The performance is a live recording. All the reverberation that you hear is natural i.e. the reverberation is produced entirely from the corridor acoustics. This reverberation, or ambient sound if you will, is the primary reason this venue was chosen for the performance. This ambience adds to the ethereal feeling the song is intended to convey. It is airy, fragile, and slightly haunting.

The Telecaster and amp was borrowed from Jason's friend, Ryan Van Zyl (thanks Ryan!).

The sound was recorded with two microphones, a Shure SM58, and a Rode NT3. Logic Pro 9 was the DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), and the pre-amp and DA/AD converter was an Apogee Duet (first generation).

It was filmed and edited by Howard James Fyvie
