Tulsa, OK native Jarvis Shaffer has been perfecting the necessary ingredients for success for nearly a decade: talent, drive, timing and charisma. Finally ripe for superstardom at 21, Jarvis' hard work has finally brought him to the precipice of success as an R&B legend.

Inspired by his older sister (a local talent show favorite) Jarvis decided to follow his music industry dreams after a fateful family trip: "I remember singing along with a song on the radio, and my family telling me how great I was," he recalls. "Right then, I knew where my life was headed." Jarvis and his family relocated to ATL to pursue his career and in 2004 Jarvis was added to the roster of music mogul Jermaine Dupri's So So Def Recordings, leading to the successful release of his first single and music video "Radio".

Though Jarvis suffered professional difficulties due to the loss of Dupri's guidance and advocacy- following Dupri's appointment as Executive Vice President of the Virgin Music Group- he found his most powerful resources in his inner circle. Jarvis' current manager was able to link him with Ludacris' Disturbing Tha Peace Records (DTP). While negotiating a collaboration between Jarvis and one of DTP's newer artists, CEO Chaka Zulu was so impressed with Jarvis' talent he made him two impressive offers; first, to have the label's co-founder, flagship artist and three-time Grammy Award winner Ludacris, appears on Jarvis' second single "Pretty Girl"; and second, to offer Jarvis a spot on DTP's powerful artist roster. Though the partnership didn't yield any other releases after "Pretty Girl," it was yet another lesson on the road to Jarvis' future.

Leaving DTP, Jarvis was now armed with ample knowledge about the inner working of the music business and working with the right team, Jarvis was now poised to step into his destiny. "I knew all along that it wasn't my talent that was holding me back from being one of the biggest artists in the game," explains Jarvis. "I just had to get with the best team." Additionally, southern Hip-Hop heavyweight DJ Khaled fit Jarvis right into the We The Best Music Group

With the guidance and support of his team, Jarvis is currently putting the finishing touches on his upcoming mixtape project Heartache hosted by DJ Scream, due out Summer 2012. Gifted with a talent far beyond his year, Jarvis is currently working with some of the biggest names in urban music – including Waka Flocka, Bow Wow, Pitbull, The Runners, Tha Bizness, Ester Dean, Static/Major, Adonis Shopshire, Deron from 112, Dre & Vidal and Rock City- to craft new R&B classics, incorporating all that this generation has been exposed to culturally and musically, while honoring the greats who paved the way. "I want to create a legacy, become a great entertainer and be known as a great person," Jarvis says. "I strive to become legendary, not just for my talent, but for what I've given back." For Jarvis, his time is now!
