DESCRIPTION:
This was Jake Burns' band for a while after leaving Stiff Little Fingers in 1983.
Their sound reflects his desire to move away from the largely guitar-based format of SLF and incorporates influences such Van Morrison, Springsteen, Motown, Stax/Atlantic horn arrangements and Jake's well-documented Elvis Costello obsession.
They only released three singles and this is the b-side of their debut "On Fortune Street".
They split up when Jake re-formed SLF in late 1987.
EMI released a compilation CD of largely unheard tracks featuring various lineups called "On Fortune Street" in 2003.
As well as all their singles and b-sides it includes a number of BBC session tracks, some live recordings and an interview with Jake and drummer Steve Grantley.
It offers an intriguing glimpse at what a full studio album might have sounded like.
