In a musical sense....to create an original sound with strong emphasis on honest songwriting and not cookie cutter material. To record timeless music where every song is unique and not a formula ...and to present excellence in musicianship.

Bio

Brief History:
� His parents came to America in the 70's from the island of St. Michael, Azores where he was born. The villa he is from, Britannia, is known as the land of the singers, so it seems it was always his destiny to sing! Coming from a very musical family, he naturally fell in love with music at a very young age and quickly fell in love with the art of songwriting. It became a refuge and a way of coping with the difficulties of life. As time grew on, he continued writing and eventually moved on to becoming a singer/songwriter, and producer. He has done some radio production and also written and produced music for local artists in the Massachusetts and Rhode Island area. Most recently, he was the writer and front man of the band Mars Hill who's debut CD was produced by Stryper frontman Michael Sweet .He's finally striking out on his own, bringing with him his experience in writing and performing. With his own unique blend, style, and positive message, Jack Marques is an artist who can strike a cord that will resonate with the industry and the hearts of fans everywhere.

Work History:
Jack has a diversified background in music. He has performed everything from gospel/R&B to, pop, rock and metal.
Jack has written music for and produced many local artists in the Boston and Providence market. He has produced local acts such as BAC (hip hop), Angela Pettiway, Angela Williams (theatre, gospel, R&B) and Carla Pimental (pop) daughter of Brazilian sensation Carman Silva.
He has also performed for many audiences and with many acts. He played percussion for legendary gospel artist Ron Kenolly and recently toured with Stryper on the eastern leg of their reunion tour. He has also performed with Tesla,Shinedown,Vanilla Fudge, Jani Lane (Warrant), Big City Rock,Whitecorss,The Rez band, Sacred Warrior ,Pray for the Soul of Betty featuring American Idol Constantine Maroulis and Family Force Five among others....
He has worked with producers Rob Rock ( Driver, Impelitteri ), Joe Carrier ( Joey Macintyre), and Michael Sweet ( Stryper )
Jack just recently sang back ups on " Something " and " For You " the 2 new songs on Seven the greatest hits by Stryper released on Hollywood Records.
His new CD " Shine among the Shadow" features special guests Tim Gaines of Stryper and Ty Tabor of King's X.
