In 2007 Ivan Roudyk has stepped in a rank of DJ ?1 in Russia, the first between Russian DJs having received such quantity of awards ("Top 100 Russian Djs "website dj.ru version, "Russian Dance Music Awards 2006", "Best Muzzone"), becoming the leader under the choice of fans and among the professionals of club culture.
Ivan Rudyk was born in 1976 in Novosibirsk in family of engineers. Since the earliest childhood Ivan's favourite toy was an old player. First he listened to fairy tales, then children songs and when he knocked 5 he reached the plate "Come Together" by Beatles.
"I listened to this record for days without a break and did not understand why it is pleasant to me so strongly. Later, analyzing this record, I have understood, that, certainly, all in it was super, but most of all I was got with a bass. This track is the special place in my collection - in memory of the first acquaintance to qualitative music".
Parents pretended that did not notice the hobby of their son for music. At age 7 Ivan was brought to sports school – his parents hoped to see him the great hockey player in the future. When Ivan was 13, he went to disco party first time in his life.
"It was absolutely new sensation to me. There were so many people and they obviously liked what occurs around. Music sounded very loudly and the lights were simply magic. All of this was removed to the second plan when the dj has played "Pump Up The Jam" by Technotronic. I understood that I never ever heard anything like this before. And something was pleasant to me so strongly, that I wanted all of my friends to hear that beat. Probably, that was my first acquaintance to the present dancing music after which I saw myself only as DJ".
In three years Ivan has left professional sports and began to work in one of night clubs of Novosibirsk. In 1992 (in the age of 16) Ivan has begun the DJ-career. In 1996 Ivan became the resident of club Faust where is ithe main sound was house and techno.
In 1997 one of the largest Russian network radio stations "Europe Plus" has suggested Ivan to do a weekly show about dancing music. Later 2 years Ivan moved to Moscow. In March 1999 he becomes the resident of club XIII and in two months signs the contract with club Gallery. "I could not believe that occurs to me. There was a lot of good djs in Moscow but I easily received resident spot in the best clubs". In 2000 Moscow club Zeppelin opens and Ivan again changes residence. He plays on the same floor with such superstar djs as Jean, Phats & Small, Mark Van Dale, Kiddo, Junior Sanchez, Luis Paris, Karl Kennedy, Marco V, Natarsha, Kosheen and many others. Zeppelin becomes club number one in Moscow.
In 2002 Ivan Rudyk has received the offer from large network radio station "Hit FM" to do a weekly show. October 19th 2002 Ivan's radio show "Electrica" seen the light and it became the top program of the station in a month. "Electrica" futured visits of such dance icons as Future Shock (UK), Brandon Block (UK), 100%ISIS (NL), Jose Nunez (USA), Luke Brancaccio (UK), Harry Choo Choo Romero (USA), Tee Smith (UK), Sonique (UK), Basement Jaxx (UK), Dirty Vegas (UK), Paul Oakenfold (UK) and the others.
In April, 2003 Ivan Rudyk receives the offer from world famous club IT (Amsterdam) to play on the party “From Russia With Love”. In May 2003 russian “DJ-culture” magazine places Roudyk in Russian Top 10 DJs list. July 26th 2003 Roudyk is one of headliners of international festival FortDanceTrip (St.-Petersburg) and he plays the two hour set between performances of world famous Sander Kleinenberg and Daniel Davoli. In September 2003 Ivan Roudyk opens his official site www.electrica.su and also starts the same name booking agency and the record label. In April of 2004 DJ Ivan Rudyk and his show “ELECTRICA” moved to “Energy FM", the brand new and dance music only station in Russia. In May of 2004 Roudyk takes part in international festival GATECRACHER. This time the festival passed in Moscow and its guests are FERRY CORSTEN, DAVE DRESDEN OF GABRIEL AND DRESDEN, ANDY FLETCHER OF DEPECHE MODE, LEEROY THORNHILL X PRODIGY, M?TORCYCLE LIVE, NICK RILEY (GATECRASHER).
Now DJ Ivan Rudyk is one of the most demanded djs in Russia. Recently he released two successful albums at Diamond Records Russia. In December 2006 Ivan was voted by thousands Russian clubbers (www.dj.ru) as NUMBER ONE DJ in Russia.
