Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat imprint opens its doors once again to welcome yet another new artist to the family. This time its the turn of Da Lukas and Paolo Bigazzi aka. Tone Float.
Both die-hard lovers and supporters of the Synth, Tone Float are the proud owners of a enviable collection of keys ranging from the vintage to the most modern. As one would expect, melody plays a key roll in the duo's productions. Tone Float seek to create atmosphere through intelligent sound design, targeting smooth electronic melodies and matching them with the grooving structure of House.
The duo have found strong support through their releases on UK label, Urban Torque and their music has been played by the likes of Ben Watt, Laurent Garnier, Nick Warren, Sebastien Leger, Matthias Vogt, Funk D'Void and of course, Hernan Cattaneo.
So to their debut for Sudbeat and the boys bring us the beautiful "Blue Velvet." In its original mix, the final track on the package, its a beautiful left of centre ambient piece. Truly lovely. Leading the ep though is the Tone Float Club Mix. Deep and wonderfully groovy, we find a smooth bubbling acid line playfully toying with the original's strings. Lovely.
Da Lukas himself steps up to provide the first of the remixes. With a huge kick-drum, he keeps things deep and progressive. For the second remix the duo turn to fellow Urban Torque artist and Bedrock regular Neil Quigley. Staying true to the Club Mix, Neil keeps things acidy, whilst adding a touch of moody muscle.
