In keeping with its support of Australians in crisis, the Australian Institute of Music held a Flood Relief Concert at the Gaelic Club in Sydney on Sunday 13 February.

Donating their time and talent by performing on the night was a host of acts, many from AIM. Thanks to acts such as: The Katie Carr Band, Shauna Jenson and the Teachers, Lana Sayah and The Soul Beats, Patrick and the Deep End, Iron Bar Hotel, The Jefferson, The Darker Half, Rockets & Mavens, Daniel Belle, Music Theatre ensembles and cabaret acts, not to mention AIM's own DJ's ripping it up on the decks. The dance floor was never vacant!

Kicking off at 5pm and going through to 11.30pm, the night was a huge success and was well supported by staff, student body and friends. Over $6000 was raised on the night, made up of door entry, raffles and silent auctions. All proceeds went to The Salvation Army Flood Appeal. Thanks also to the Gaelic Club who donated the venue for the concert
On the silent auction front, some of the most coveted prizes were up for grabs which included a fender guitar signed by STING's guitarist Dominic Miller, not to mention a fender bass signed by STING himself especially to help AIM raise money for the flood victims. Raffled items included acoustic guitars, effects pedals, strings, headphones, saxophones, software and a whole heap more. Needless to say, there were some very happy winners by the end of the concert.

Thanks to all those who attended, performed, donated and helped organise the event. It's great to see what can be achieved when the AIM community pulls together.
