From the director: Shihad were impressed with Wet Rubber (HLAH ), so now the tables had turned. For the Interconnector clip they hassled me instead of me hassling them. We initially met at York Street recording studios. They were recording the Blue Light Disco EP. Jon had a rough idea that revolved around police lights and a general Blue Light Disco theme. I listened, but I had an idea of my own – band ideas don’t usually contain much detail. Later we met in a Mt Eden motel; I had fleshed out an idea and presented this to them. At the time I was one for creating an environment for the band to do what they do best; to just play; with the addition of a circular track, band amps and a slight glam punk-rock feel. This approach had worked for Wet Rubber, and this was why I was now about to do Interconnector (because of Wet Rubber). The band turned up worse for wear – they had been up late drinking at a function, and some were in no mood to shoot a music video – or wear makeup. Interconnector was saved on the day by an incredible Jon Toogood performance – complete with a studded dog collar, sparkly blue shirt, blood (from his strumming hand) and punk-rock cool.

This song features on the bands EP Blue Light Disco.
