This is video parody of other so called music videos (see below). Pirates video originally created in the early '90s. I hope you enjoy the humorous elements within. This is the updated version from 2011 that was inspired by Keith Emerson's love of the first, but primitive video. This video incorporates three different live concert performances of Pirates by Emerson, Lake & Palmer (ELP). Unlike most ambiguous music videos, these images were used to directly reflect - word for word-the incredibly visual lyrics of Peter Sinfield and Greg Lake. Unlike most music videos that never represent the sentiments of the lyrics. "Pirates" is the antithesis to that pattern of pablum. "What you hear is what you see". A video that does justice to the lyrics with a few winks. Keith Emerson wrote this lush and beautiful music originally for the soundtrack of a cancelled film version of Frederick Forsyth's book The Dogs of War. This version of "Pirates" is from the Manticore box set. This version had the cannon shots that come alive in this video.
