Serenade on "I Shall Buy a Black Horse" was performed on a program called Long Journey Home on October 7, 2012 at The National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library in Cedar Rapids by flutist Jan Boland, guitarist John Dowdall and cellist Carey Bostian.

Trio Concertant Over Czech Folk Songs is a four-movement work written in 2002 by Red Cedar Chamber Music's first composer in residence, Jerry Owen.

The original version for flute, viola & guitar appears on Red Cedar Chamber Music's 2005 Czech-Inspired compact disc, Fleur de Son Classics 57974.

Due to its popularity, Jerry has created a variety of additional instrumental settings including the flute, cello & guitar version in this video.

The four movements of Trio Concertant Over Czech Folk Songs are:
1. Fantasy on "Whither Little Path" 2. Serenade on "I Shall Buy a Black Horse"
3. Scherzo on "Bagpipes Playing in the Village"
4. March on "Pique", "The Musicians" and "The Beggar"
