DESCRIPTION:
Applied the Wampler "Chocolate" mod to the generic Boss SD-1 overdrive to very pleasant results! I think the combination of germanium and LED diode clipping adds to the warm and dynamic tube-like tone. Has great sag when you dig in and roll the drive up, and responds really REALLY well to dynamics and riding the guitar's Volume knob, which I tried to demonstrate here.
Has way more output and body compared to the generic stock SD-1, and the tone frankly does not compare...
Settings:
Vol: 10 o'clock
Tone: 10 o'clock
Drive: set at 9, then noon, then full throughout this demo
Gear used:
- Fender Super Champ (1982 Rivera model, with upgraded Weber Alnico speaker)
- Fender Pro Tone Squire
