DESCRIPTION:
As the longtime conductor and arranger for Tennessee Ernie Ford, Jack Fascinato had the opportunity to record several albums under his own name. One of them, Music from a Surplus Store (Capitol, 1959), is now regarded as a classic of space age pop.

The album, recorded in Hollywood on March 24, 1959, featured sound effects made by items found in junk stores. "Oily Boyd" was the lead-off track.
