Brödet - Mimesis - Video
PUBLISHED:  Oct 11, 2015
DESCRIPTION:
Brödet is a Stockholm based sextet who, with their debut EP Mammon, breaks new ground in the land between pop and dance floor oriented electronic music. With singer Stellas trailing vocal melodies, over the partly dreamlike and partly groove oriented sound, one can imagine the music coming from a rave on the bottom of the ocean. Elements from different electronic genres are picked eclectic and unscrupulously to be sewn in to Brödets soundscapes. Influences from the nineties sample based pop, like Massive Attack, is clear, but even more modern bands like Jaako Eino Kalevi and MGMT can also be sensed. Brödets dance friendly single Kerala came out this spring and was well received by both fans and writers. Mammon has, in turn, generally a slower tempo and darker sound.

Along with the EP comes also a video for the track Mimesis, with Andrew Brink Pedersen as director and photographer.

Brödet was founded by Carl Christian Holmberg and Stella Cartriers. Later on Jonas Thunberg, Otto Reimers, Maximilian Wiking Kern and Erik Holmberg joined the band.
