DESCRIPTION:
Ikonoklast - The "W" Stands For War, a JPEG video

This video was created by the singer and originally appeared as a GIF on his Myspace page. It was timed to play with the song when you viewed his profile page. Problem was, if you had a slow connection, the song and gif wouldn't start simultaneously. So, the images were transferred over to video using Windows Movie Maker and the smaller images became enlarged, causing the pixelation. The newer images added at that later time are the clearer ones.

The lyrics were written in about a six month time frame and finalized on 2/20/05; the timeline including the political campaigns of Bush v. Kerry and the Iraqi insurgency, as well as the events leading up to them. The first gif version of the video was created shortly after the release of "The Dawn" album in 2007. The song and video are intended to capture the uncertainty of the time and the use of fear as a political tool. Aside from the obvious, other key players leading up to the war are intentionally placed in the video, as well as people who became caught up in its turmoil. See if you can spot some of them and identify their relevence [(Cindy Sheehan, The Dixie Chicks, Valerie Plame, Nick Berg) Paul Wolfowitz, Karl Rove, Colin Powell].
