Italy’s IDOLS ARE DEAD give us that dirty heavy metal we love while mixing thrash elements with precision. Consisting of veteran metal musicians who’ve influenced many in Electrocution and Folder, their experience really shows in IDOLS ARE DEAD. Birthed from the idea of Mana (vocals) and Luka (drums), both of the Electrocution and Folder fame, have teamed together again to pay tribute to their huge and endless love for heavy metal of bands like Slayer, Metallica, Anthrax, and more. Make no mistake calling IDOLS ARE DEAD a side project; call it another great band to strengthen the resume.

Wasting no time, IDOLS ARE DEAD tapped producer Gabriele Ravaglia of Fear Studio, arguably Italy’s finest to perfect the band’s metal masterpiece. Staying on the fast track, IDOLS ARE DEAD won the Heineken Jammin Festival Contest in 2007, beating the other 2273 bands and sharing the main stage with SLAYER, IRON MAIDEN, STONE SOUR, and many more!!

Shortly after, IDOLS ARE DEAD inked a deal with Scarlet Records in December 2007, just 16 months after their birth! Releasing their groundbreaking debut, Mean, an intense tour followed the release, including The Evolution Festival on July 12th where the band shared the main stage with IN FLAMES, OPETH, DEATH ANGEL, and many more. IDOLS ARE DEAD have been making quite the name for themselves receiving praise in Metal Hammer (UK, GER, ITA), Rock Sound (ITA), and many more press outlets. Already creating a huge hype in Italy and surrounding European areas, metal powerhouse IDOLS ARE DEAD are looking to break out into US territory!

From the straight forward metal attack of The Name Of My Rage to the melodic and politically driven Pain For Sale, IDOLS ARE DEAD have created a monstrous sound both raw and intense. Mean is catchy as hell the whole way through and is able to attract both the metal and hard rock fans alike. Their ability to create such powerful and headbanging anthems, plus maintain their metal credibility says a lot! Idols Are Dead’s heavy hitting attitude and versatility is soon to attract the masses.
