Baltimore native Tim Green has music in his genes. His Dad and Uncle had singing in their background - and his older brother's trumpet playing stirred admiration in childhood. That the amazingly creative "early bloomer" would choose saxophone as his instrument was divine intervention. Which is entirely appropriate to say, considering his contributions to Gospel music in the past several years.

But the Jazz that this artist creates...oh, my dear - and what he has done to continue its glorious tradition. Our composer and arranger has incorporated what he learned from Church roots and found a hybrid highway with his GPS - taking the best of the past, Monk Institute Masters degree in tow - and hearing a siren call from the future. The result has the Jazz Times calling Tim Green a "player to watch." Bob Mintzer of Yellowjackets fame calls him "one of the brightest saxophonists on the scene." And Christian McBride and Terence Blanchard have sung our guest's praises.
