www.swedishpunk.com:
The band existed between the years 1981 and 1984 and was formed by the brothers Mats and Torulf Nilsson. After they in 1980 laid down one of Sundsvalls most famous (and orthodox) punkband Massmedia, when they moved to Linköping, they again felt peckish for playing. In the beginning it was planned to be a soloproject by Mats, but it concluded in Huvudtvätt. With new influences from the hardcore-scene in USA and english Discharge they now took a step towards the tougher punkstyle.

Huvudtvätt was concentrated on the Swedish market. All songtitles had cleaning-theme and the ambiguous lyrics was humorous, but at the same time serious intended.

The band also appeared on the international market as Headcleaners, whose name came from a cleaning-cassette. The music was common with Huvudtvätt, but the social critical english lyrics was foremost written by Janne, on the Uppsala-label Malign Massacre. Via him the band also got in contact and a recorddeal with english Xcentric Noise Records and Tapes. With help from this label and other contacts high appreciated records and tapes was spread with great success all over the world.

Huvudtvätt had during their four years four different vocalists; Huw, Hasse, Janne, and last but not least Lasse P. The drums was runned by Patrik from old Massmedia, except for the last album when the band borrowed from Kurt I Kuvös. On stage Huvudtvätt only performed once during the carrer. It was in Sundsvall autumn 1982.
