Hurry Up Santa Claus (Little John Records) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Dec 06, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
Little John Records was an early 50's children's label that only released their records on tiny five-inch (12.7 cm) records pressed out of what seems to be some sort of a non-vinyl plastic. They released three runs of ten records each (although the first one had an eleventh release, which had an alternate version of "The Lollipop Bear" on it, it was given the same catalog number as the original). This video features a selection from the third series, which featured Christmas music, with traditional and songs written by the label's songwriter Pat Ballard (who wrote the all-time hit "Mr. Sandman"). These selections were transferred and cleaned up by myself. Some of these records were in pretty rough shape, so I am amazed at the results I got from these records. I would also like to note that these recordings came from a budget children's label, which explains these poor tonal quality recordings.
