Huff Da Author a.k.a. "Southern Iceburg", was born in the same situation that leads most young men into the prison system. Music and Hip Hop was a visual exclamation of his destiny . After spending years in the streets and prison, he realized a higher purpose in life. Once Huff Da Author left that part of his life he returned to the studio armed with renewed confidence. He is now ready to lyrically assassinate any competitors ready to battle. Influenced by hip-hop legends Daimond D., Pete Rock, DJ Premier and with over 10 years doing production it's apparent that Huff Da Author learned much from his influences, both in production AND lyrics. His smooth demeanor is a veneer for the fire that burns within. Huff Da Author can be best described as a lyrical activist whose words are meant to inform, inspire and entertain

And these aren’t attributes he chose to take on willingly, these traits stem from personal experiences that have molded him to be one of the most exciting new emcees around today. Huff Da Author, still a committed member of the Fam 1st crew, is a hardcore street poet. He is a fine example of a black man’s ability to turn negatives into positives and live to tell the story. When a man like Huff Da Author hits the mic the landscape becomes far more interesting. “I don’t really MC. What I say I just say cause that’s how I feel at the time, but I always try to make a jewel in it. You might not catch what I’m sayin’ til later,” boasts Huff. Huff realizes that Hip Hop is an audio movie, taking the listener through every knit and cranny of an artist pains, joys, aches, rebellions, defeats and conquests.
