Massive is technically a three oscillator synthesizer. Sometimes synths have a fourth or an extra "Oscillator" that is dedicated to adding noise, sub harmonics or even FM synthesis. The Modulation OSC in Massive falls into that category.

The Modulation OSC in Massive has four modes. All of which can be controlled independently from each other and can even be modulated by a source like an envelope or an LFO. They can be applied to any of the oscillators that are active in Massive and you have control over the pitch and

The first is Ring Mod. This setting will introduce a bit of a bell or ringing quality to a sound. It's a great tool if you're trying to

Next is the Phase Mod. This is a great tool for adding some grit to your sounds. It almost acts like a baby filter by introducing phase shifts, perfect for adding some serious punch to a bass. This is one of the most powerful sound design tools in the Modulation OSC in Massive.

Third, is the Position Mod. This mode changes the position of the wavetable much like in the actual oscillators, it just does it at a very subtle rate.

Last, is the Filter FM Mod. This mode applies to the Filters in Massive and can only be applied to certain filter types in Massive.
