Mic up your kick drum with your guitar amp people!

This week I try out some alternatives to the Subkick. I found that there are a few different ways to do it, and what you should choose depends on genre and tempo of song. I made two alternatives in this example. One with an old hifi speaker from Philips and one where I just used a guitar combo, which actually was my favorite alternative.

After making this video I made some measuring and found that the D112 i used as regular mic actually went lower in the frequencies than the subkick alternatives, but both the sub kick alternatives had a much clearer punch in their respective area. The hifi speaker had a clear peak around 75Hz and the guitar combo had it's peak at 50Hz.
