Say hi to Hilda! Yes, shes one of the chosen few who can embrace a future on a first name basis with her fans. Its a Swedish name, and so is Hilda. Very Swedish indeed, and that may indicate that were talking quality here. For over a decade, Sweden has been a main supplier of great pop to the world when it comes to song writers and producers. The list of international stars collaborating with Swedish talent is impressive. And so is the raw, natural talent of many native artists. Hilda is certainly one of those.

Already as a kid, Hilda knew what she wanted.

- I wanted to succeed, she laughs. I guess I was a bit of a pain for my big sister as I always competed with her in anything. I could write already at the tender age of five.

A smart kid, no doubt, but theres a flipside to that, too.

- I was the stereotypical smart kid. I loved math, I loved to read and write. I didnt get that loving school was “wrong”. I was teased, I had big glasses. In 7:th grade I decided enough is enough. I got contacts, started to wear too much make up and decided not to be a geek anymore. I wanted to be a cool girl. I was a bit of a wild child in my mid teens, but at 17 I had already calmed down quite a bit.

Hilda has always been interested in music, and chose to attend schools focusing on music, but at nine she turned to figures skating. The hard work, with practice and training filling almost all of her free time for years, eventually too its toll and she quit at 15. When she left, she was ranked among the 24 best figure skaters in the county.

- Yeah, I was pretty good, she laughs. I still am, but dont ask me to do pirouettes in public. Im too modest to do that, I dont want to show off.

Shes a bit of an enigma. A part of her is withdrawn and dislikes attention, another part show off her inborn gift to enthral any audience.

- I guess Im a bit secretive, she says.

Theres no secret, however, that Hilda knows exactly what shes in for. In her teens, she was a big fan herself. The object of her adoration: The Backstreet Boys.

- I was a crazed fan, she laughs. I had pictures of them on my walls, in the ceiling. I got all the albums, singles…you name it. They were my whole world for a few years. I spent nine days outside the studio in Stockholm where they recorded the Black And Blue album. I was madly in love with Nick Carter. I laugh at it now of course, but I actually screamed and fainted at one of their shows.

Hilda moved on to adore Britney Spears, but of lately she has discovered the timeless quality of such classics as Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin.

- But a great drum machine beat from the 80s knocks me too, she admits.

Hildas music is pop at its finest, with hooks that stick like epoxy glue and melodies that works just as well on the dance floor as they do on the radio. Her satin like voice adds new dimensions to contemporary pop.

Not surprisingly, Hilda has already before even releasing a single song enjoyed positive attention on an international level.

In her native Sweden shes not totally unfamiliar as she was one of the contestants on Idol, the Swedish version of American Idol, and ended up among the final 20 talents.

But that was then. This is now, and Hilda is ready to take on the world.
