The show was broadcast to close the show's Matariki coverage for 2008 - Matariki is the Maori New Year, and is celebrated through June and sometimes into July every year. Matariki is the constellation known otherwise as Pleiades or The Seven Sisters. Hinemoana wrote the song 'He Tuahine' (Sisters) for her mother and her six sisters.
