A title extracted from the first album of Rive Gauche the worthy successors of St Germain … Steeped in cheeky tales which his grandmother was fond of telling, Marcelle, who ran « Le Tabou » - a mythical Jazz-club in the Saint-Germain-des-prés of the 60’s – Alexandre Destrez meets electro in 1994 while he distiguishes himself with his jazz phrasé on St Germain’s albums ; « Boulevard » (F com) and « Tourist » (Blue Note) With this double influence and his many musical collaborations with both french and international DJ and producers, Alexandre creates Rive Gauche, an exciting electro Jazz project ! His remarkable pianist and keyboardist skill are electrified by the effects and programming of DJ producer David Hachour from Parisian Soul and is enriched by a band of brass and percussion Rive Gauche reflects the French Touch sound and spirit with a jazz melting electro beats and voices' samples : a new Electro Jazz sensation groovy, spirited and trendy.
