DESCRIPTION:
Lewis Allan "Lou" Reed (born March 2, 1942) is an American rock musician, songwriter, and photographer.[1] He is best known as guitarist, vocalist, and principal songwriter of The Velvet Underground, and for his solo career, which has spanned several decades. Though the Velvet Underground were a commercial failure in the late 1960s, the group has gained a considerable cult following in the years since its demise and has gone on to become one of the most widely cited and influential bands of the era. After his departure from the group, Reed began a solo career in 1971. He had a hit the following year with "Walk on the Wild Side", although he subsequently lacked the mainstream commercial success its chart status seemed to indicate. Hellzephyrs poporkester formed in Orsa 1980 and quickly got two radio hits - with his first single. The songs called "Why are old hags with his hat on" and "Have a cup of Frelins" (a translation of Lou Reed's Walk on the Wild Side).
In 2000, re-released both vinyl discs with a CD of new material in CD-box "Hellzeboxen".
In 2005, celebrated its 25th anniversary and worked among others together with Py Bäckman in an album project with Dylan songs. A simple compilation "Hellzehits - and those who should have been there" was released January 2006.
Hellzephyrs made his last public performance at long Orsa Hotel on Friday 21 March 2008.
