Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Heather quickly took to songwriting at a very young age of 5 years old . As she grew older, she was influenced by such great songwriter/artists as Willie Nelson and Dolly Parton. Heather honed her singing and songwriting skills by playing many clubs and venues throughout the Lone Star State. She released an independent album in 2002 titled "Six Strings & Slow Backroads" which brought her much attention. In 2003 she was voted "Best Female Singer/Songwriter" at the Fort Worth Weekly Awards. After graduating from Texas Christian University with a Degree in Radio/TV/Film, she took off for Nashville. She found fans in town that took to her original sound and obvious passion for creating music. Heather signed with Warner/Chappell Music in 2005 and is recognized around the industry circle as a talent to watch. Heather can be seen at writers' nights as well as with her band regularly. Her live shows are not to be missed as she exhibits a disarming humor and innocent charm while telling stories about her songs.
Her songs have been cut by recording artists Sara Evans, Ashley Ray, The Randy Rogers' Band, Jesse Lee, Universal South Recording Artist Bailey Brown, American Idol Finalist, Kristy Lee Cook and most recently, Terri Clark, Jypsi and Emma Mae Jacobs. Heather recently signed a publishing deal with Sony ATV publishing in June of 2009.
