BIO

Okay, I could write this bio like I'm not the one writing it, but I am, so I'm just going to tell you about myself. I'm a singer/songwriter living in Nashville for the past 12 years. Originally from Portland OR, I moved here because I heard you could make a living writing songs. And much to my surprise, I have. Growing up playing in rock bands, I wasn't sure I'd fit in here, but I love it. The talent in this town is amazing, no matter what kind of music you like. I have had the incredible fortune of being named ASCAP's 2008 country songwriter of the year as well as Billboard and N.S.A.I's 2007 country songwriter of the year. I co-wrote the ACM nominated and ASCAP's 2007 song of the year "If You're Going Thru Hell" by Rodney Atkins, CMA song of the year nominee "Stupid Boy" by Keith Urban, as well as the ACM song of the year nominee "Moments" by Emerson Drive. Other Number 1's include Reba McEntire's "Somebody", and most recently "These Are My People" by Rodney Atkins. Other singles I have co-written are Blake Shelton's "Don't Make Me", Chris Cagle's "What Kind Of Gone" and Bucky Covington's "It's Good To Be Us". Living here has also inspired me to put out two independent pop/rock records, "Three Perfect Days" and "Surface". My song "Coffee With Jesus", off of "Surface" won 1st place in the AAA catagory of the 2005 International Songwriting Contest", and my song "Leno Over Letterman", also off of "Surface" won 1st place in the rock division of the 2005 U.S.A. Songwriting Contest. Other artists that have recorded my songs are Trisha Yearwood, Gretchin Wilson, Darius Rucker, Meredith Brooks, Sarah Buxton, Tracy Lawrence, Ronnie Milsap, Tracy Byrd, Terri Clark, and Lorrie Morgan among others. My Dad always said "go country son, go and prosper". He likes to kid me about it now, saying he was right all along. Okay, I'll give him that one. But I still love to put out rock records, and I always bounce the songs off him first, if he likes them, I know I've done something wrong! Okay I'm rambling, but let me just say that Nashville has taught me there's two kinds of music. Good and Bad. I just want to make great music with good friends, and avoid a real job at all cost. So far so good.
