AS LONG AS THERE ARE BORED YOUNG MEN WITH ANGER IN THEIR HEARTS AND A BELLY FULL OF STELLA ARTOIS THERE WILL BE BANDS AS HEAVY AND EXCITING AS HEADWOUND.Headwound started life towards the end of 2002. The band set about the local circuit playing mainly covers but after a few months began to write some original material and their set soon became less covers-orientated.Summer 2003 saw Headwound relocate to a purpose built rehearsal room and also the gig diary began to fill up, the band branching out to new areas playing a biker bash and a couple of small festivals. Finally making it into the studio (the much acclaimed 'HOUSE OF ROCK' ) in October 2003 to cut their first three track demo and the band were delighted when the first 100 copies flew out of local record stores.February 2004 saw original vocalist Spud jumping ship to Australia leaving a frantic hunt for a new vocalist to fill his huge shoes.Up stepped Matt Nicholls who was ideal for the job, combining the growl of Spud with some actual vocal talent! His arrival was in the nick of time to add vocals to newly recorded tracks which were already musically complete. These recording went on to become Headwounds first proper release: 'DISGRACE TO THE MUSIC INDUSTRY'.During 2004 the band went from strength to strength, firstly breaking out of Cornwall, also being involved in some good gigs supporting STAMPIN' GROUND and Scuzz favourites FOURWAYKILL, with their live show becoming an altogether slicker affair. This year to date Headwound have enjoyed a frantic schedule, supporting the legendary GWAR during their UK tour and FOURWAYKILL and STAMPIN GROUND again, also bands such as CAUDO PAVONIS, LORDS OF THE SOUTHERN PRIEST and GRIPSHIFT, in various locations across the country.Having also received much exposure on local radio and several thousand hits on their website, the band are constantly branching out to play more and more areas of the UK.With the 'DISGRACE.' cd selling well, a new EP due soon and a huge range of merchandise, the bands fanbase is rapidly growing. And now to 2007! New singer, new Bassist, new drive and a new determination. The Shits about to hit the fanThe Wound ARE BACK!!!
