Gregg Haynes, a native of St. Louis, Missouri was born to play the guitar.

His desire and passion to play began at the tender age of 8.

Haynes is self-taught because his parents could not afford guitar lessons, but with a deep religious background he was taught to use his faith to develop his ear training. Gregg further developed his style by listening to records of guitarist, Wes Montgomery, commercial jingles and on the job training at the St. Paul Church of God in Christ influenced by Shirley Tabb and his cousin Daryl Darden.

The nickname "Happy Guitar" was dubbed by his cousin Dr. Levi R. King, Sr. because of the "Happiness" that is reflected in his guitar playing.

Gregg Haynes was the accompanying guitarist for the Award Winning documentary film, "Say Amen Somebody". This documentary featured The ONeal Twins, Thomas A. Dorsey, The Barrett Sisters and more.

Haynes has also accompanied and/or recorded with Edwin Hawkins, Rance Allen, Andrae Crouch, Bebe & Cece Winans, Kirk Franklin and more.

And now with over 40 years of experience, he brings to the table his passion and love for music to reach the hearts of many. He is a mentor, band director, arranger, producer and now Author & playwright.

Haynes is the President & CEO of Anointed Music Ministries, Int'l. He is also an ordained minister.

He has (5) CD projects under his belt, which has received national attention and raved reviews.
