This cover song is for Matt Brown's "Theme Music"-This week's Theme: OPPOSITES ATTRACT: NIGHT AND DAY- Songs with Night or Day in the title-June 3 - June 9, 2012.

The music created for this cover was a reinvention of the original Ministry track by my friend David Courtney, who was in Threshold with Lisa in the 1980's. David and Lisa work together as "The Von Von's" on occasion.

Matt Brown: Here's the concept- every Sunday, I'll post a "theme." Everyone can then post themselves singing, playing, interpreting whatever song they like that they feel fits that theme. You can post as often as you like in that time period.

Lisa King: Rock and Roller from Atlanta, Ga. Her band, The Hot Place, just finished recording its debut album, "The Language of Birds" at Southern Tracks Recording in Atlanta. The album was produced by Jeff Calder of the Swimming Pool Q's, (http://www.swimmingpoolqs.com/) and Jeff is also a member of the band, playing guitar and contributing backing vocals. Robert Schmid, also of the Q's, plays drums and Mike Lynn, formerly of Betty's Not A Vitamin plays guitar as well. Lisa sings and plays bass. You can learn about the band, listen to songs, and see some of Lisa's fine art here: http://www.thehotplaceband.com/.

Since the 80's, Lisa has played in Atlanta bands Grave Shift, Threshold, Unminded, and played keyboards with Glenn Phillips of the Hampton Grease Band. She also plays keys and percussion with The Swimming Pool Q's.

You can listen to a few tracks from her upcoming album release on Bandcamp, at: http://thehotplace.bandcamp.com/album/the-language-of-birds.

Lisa is also a crafter, and sells hand screenprinted and hand sewn pillows in her shop, Sew Lucky Girl on Etsy. You can visit her store at: http://www.sewluckygirl.etsy.com/.
