Hakim steps on the 2008 music scene/

With a lean and a passion to sing/

“Come 2 Me” cause you gotta “Good Thang.”/

Making the world move to groove that he brings…In

ATL is where this story begins/

There this Bahamian descendent showed a gift with the pen/

Writing raps and poems and speeches was his thing/

But as he listened to “Tender Lover” (Baby Face)

He discovered he could sing/

This young and smooth 80’s baby/

Started crooning for the ladies/

And he loved the response cause he knew it drove them crazy/

He entered a school for the arts/ (DCPA Avondale High)

But the books were his heart/

And it wasn’t until college (UT Knoxville) that he decided he should start/

To hone the gifts he was given/

For the love in the beginning/

But making it far enough that he could do it for a living/

By playing shows for those who love that Soul/

And creating songs for those who want to go/

To another time and place, when the music meant something/

More than the diamonds, the grindin’ the humpin/

That you usually see in today’s R&B/

Hakim is bringing more with his debut cd/

It’s a dual single “Good Thang/Come 2 Me”

Reminiscent of Raphael Siddiq or the great Stevie/

Influenced by young MJ and Marvin Gaye all day/

Hakim don’t play just let the songs play/
