DESCRIPTION:
At the time this video was shot this particular tune was still a work in progress. Clinton had never heard the tune before playing here for the very first time...and he did not know that Calvin had written it for him.

Calvin has a brand-new album coming out this May and "Clinton P. Boogie" will be on it.

Calvin on Clinton: "I met Clinton's dad Freddie when his band backed me up at a show I was doing in Saskatchewan. We quickly became friends as he's such a great player and good guy. He traveled all over the place with me. Canada & Europe.

We were teaching at a fiddle camp at Emma Lake Saskatchewan and he told me about his son, Clinton, who he just started teaching guitar to. I believe he was 11. Freddie said he was doing great so I said bring him out to the show tonight and I'll get him up to pick something with me. Well in thru the door walked in this little guy with his guitar case, very shy. In the middle of the show I invited him up and Freddie was just beaming with anticipation. Clint pulled out the guitar and ripped off Turkey in the Straw at about 150 Bpm and it was clean and fired right along. His 1st public performance. I think he started 3 months before that. Amazing.

When Clint finished high school, he moved to Edmonton and went to a college for a music program. Freddie and his wife Sheila had started doing a duo so I was unable to hire Freddie as much as I used to so Clint was close and I stared hiring him and he is in his early 30s now.

He plays with many different groups in various styles and he plays with me most of the times I play. "
