ORNITHOLOGY (CD - Here Put This On 2003) . . . is usually heard played "up," as performed by it's writer, Charlie Parker. This arrangement is one that Ensley slowed down and added a latin style to the composition. Ensley on trumpet, along with the tenor, play the lead in unison, which adds a dimension to the sound of the melody.

"This is a fun tune to perform live. Audiences really get into the latin style twist to it. It is many listeners favorite on the album too. Even though the tempo is slower and styled differently, and the Bop intensity is replaced by another sound, I'm sure that Mr. Parker would still approve."
