AMERICANA WOMEN at Bristol Rhythm and Roots get together and jam. One of the finest moments of MusicBox Project's seven months of field recordings was this time at the 2010 Bristol Rhythm and Roots Runion Festival when we were able to get nine women musician together to talk about and play the music they love!

Here on this tune "Texas Easy Street" led by veteran musician and folklorist herself, Eleanor Ellis are, from left to right: Kim France on upright bass who performed with 2 groups at the Festival: Boss Hawg and The Lost Ridge Band, Eleanor Ellis on guitar, Resa Gibbs on scrub board and percussion, Jackie Merritt on harmonica who are 2/3rd of the group MSG Acoutstic Blues Trio, Jill Fromwick on harmonica and Eliza Lynn on banjo, Jill and Eliza performed at the Festival together as The Grit Pixies and Eliza also performed with her roup The Eliza Lynn Band, Rhiannon Giddens on fiddle who is a member of The Carolina Chocolate Drops, Abbie Gardner on dobro who perrformed with her trio Red Molly, and Dyann Arthur, director of MusicBox Project on guitar. The camera man (yes folks, the one man in the room) is Rick Arthur.
