StellaRoma: a Brief Introduction - Video
PUBLISHED:  Nov 01, 2016
DESCRIPTION:
Three uniquely talented musicians join to combine ancient and future, East and West, into a stirring mix of “progressive world music” with futuristic flavors. Greg Herriges plays (and sings into) his guitar and Greek bouzouki with a unique approach honed by his studies of Asian and other international styles. Rundio represents the 21st century with Chapman stick, a 10-stringed tapped instrument that sings like a bass, a piano, an electronic orchestra, and sometimes all at once. Michael Bissonnette juggles an array of global percussion including cajon, frame drums, glockenspiel, and Aztec death whistle. The music ranges from electrified Mediterranean folk to Western avant-pop, worldly surf-jazz, and high-energy all-of-the-above originals.

Includes excerpts from:

The Other White Cells (Herriges)
Picked by the Monkey (Rundio)
Bossa Diablo (Herriges)
9/8 jam a la Si Verias (trad. Sephardic)
Uskudara (trad. Turkish)
