DESCRIPTION:
Michel Legrand was only 22 when he created this best-selling album, utilizing fifteen Paris-themed melodies. The songs are engagingly woven together such that one blends into the next, sort of a sonic 'lap dissolve'. Thus each side comprises a suite, easily listenable as a whole. Released in 1954, this album went on to sell over 8 million copies. It was one of the monthly offerings of the early Columbia Record Club--(that's how I got my first copy, long since worn out).
