Breaking Boundaries: should girls in Egypt make the first move? - Video
PUBLISHED:  May 28, 2015
DESCRIPTION:
This video aims to answer these questions:
*what do you think of girls making the first move when it comes to dating/relationships? (first 11 minutes and 30 seconds)
*If a girl made the first move, how would you translate her actions? Would you think any less of her? (to guys) How do you think a girl's actions would be translated if she made the first move? (to girls)
*Do you think more girls in Egypt should start making the first move? (to guys) Would you make the first move or have you done it before? (to girls)

I walked around campus and asked different people what they think of the idea of a girl taking the initiative in expressing her feelings for a guy or asking a guy out. It was interesting hearing different opinions from people, and learning how both genders perceive girls who do this. Keep in mind I go to the American University in Cairo, so it is a closed community. I didn't get the chance to interview people outside university unfortunately, but I believe that even though there were more positive reactions from people in these interviews than there would be from the majority of Egyptians, many views and concerns expressed by people in this videos reflect those of the rest of society. Hope you enjoy watching. Remember girls, don't be afraid to do whatever you think is right because there are different kinds of people out there and there is definitely someone who will accept you for who you are, so never be afraid to show it!
