'Wahda' means One in Arabic, and it's also the name of the basic underlying rhythm in the piece. By layering different rhyhms from East and West (North Indian, South Indian, Arabic, Balkan, Flamenco, Western contemporary styles as emulated by the vocal drum set) and having them all tell their own story but always meet again on beat one, we celebrate the fact that all rhythms come from and back to a place we can all connect to, the pulse of the universe, if you will, and even our own heartbeats. This song is a tribute to the power of rhythm to bring us all together. #WeAreAllOne
