Doodling around with George Van Eps style chords - Video
PUBLISHED:  Mar 18, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
A friend gave me a copy of George Van Ep's first guitar method from 1938. It details how to play a chord melody style based on simple chords (major, minor and diminished triads) and the style can be heard in the playing of both Van Eps himself in the 30's and his student Allan Reuss.

I've been dipping this rather intimidating tome fairly casually as I remember an interview with Howard Alden where he mentioned that Van Eps regarded these books as 'sources' rather than methods per se.

This is a work in progress!
