About John H & M.E.E.O:

John H & M.E.E.O, or John Hilfing and Mathias Eriksson, has been two familiar faces in the Gothenburg nightlife during the last decade, both as solo artists and in various constellations. Thru the years they have provided people with cutting-edge and unique dance music at loads of different clubs and parties. John first and foremost as a DJ, and Mathias as an artist. By the end of 2012 they decided to create some music together and a hypnotic and intensive mixture of acid, techno, trance and electro was born. Since then they have started their own label, released two EPs and remixed a variety of other artists.


John H & M.E.E.O about their remix:

-- When creating the remix for Thermostatic the main influence came from bands and artists like Soft Metals and Kris Menace, John says. We wanted a classic, dark '80s electronic sound with a modern touch. Since the original is quite slow, we decided to speed it up, to make it more danceable. Instead of using the sounds from the original track, we created our own using a few hardware synths in Mathias studio - saving only the vocals from the original. We jammed and found a good flow and by the end of the evening the remix was around 80% done.

-- I then turned to the band to get some feedback, John continues. Johannes got back to me and said he liked it, but really would have wanted to hear my TB-303 Devil Fish on the track... So, the next time we sat down in the studio we added some 303 and the result was terrific! After two evenings in the studio the remix was done and we are very happy with the result. Being a Thermostatic fan since the first album it has been a pleasure to work on this remix! We wish to send a big "Thank you!" to the whole band and let's hope for a new Thermostatic album in 2014!
