Corey Smith a.k.a G-Cess was born June 14,1986 in the Bowen Homes(BankHead) projects in the A. Growing up in a neighborhood where drugs and murder was a daily transaction, he had to stay focused and make the right decisions. At some point, the streets raise you and setbacks kick in where you end up going to jail, dealing with death, destruction and family pitfalls. In all, he still had to get his head straight and remain focused on the music. G-Cess started his rap dreams when he was 17 and turned it into reality with his first record deal from Stillwell Entertainment (an independent label). That label killed a deal with Warner and the hoop dreams came to an end with our first group called BMS(Big Money Stackin), which featured his cousin Draonta 'Yung Envy' Ferguson and high school cat, Daryl 'D-Gutta' Edwards (www.myspace.com/2smuventertainment).
After having minor local fame with the (BMS), the group decided to go their separate ways. In 2005, Street Made Entertainment was born -- his own record label. Coming from a family of entrepreneurs and street hustlas, he recruited cats from da hood, new artists like Truf, Kellyndria and Pokeboi. He constantly recruits new talent, trains upcoming artists and has received requests from SwissBeatz, the Franchize Boyz, Shop Boyz, Shawty Lo, Mailbox Boyz and many others in da industry. With the release of his new mixtape, "Hardest in da City" the streets are buzzin' already and we're just getting started.
Music is not where the story ends, it continues to be the foundation of all his work -- SME Studios, SME Magazine and a future film company. His inspiration comes from Master P, 50 Cent, Jay-Z, his uncle Tony, his moms, and grandma. He's destined to make things happen! This multi-talented artist/CEO is a force" to be reckoned with. Fully respected in the street, his mixtapes and music is definitely "NOTHING LIKE Y'all". -------------
