Gabriele was born in Naples, Italy, on October 22, 1986. He started singing when he was just a child, being influenced by different kinds of music, mostly supported by his father who introduced him to classic, pop and in particular black music. He also started listening to the most important italian authors of pop music; Gabriele will always preserve a particular attention to the italian world of music, even if his talent was most clear in soul, blues, R&B. He started studying piano at the age of 10; when he was 11 he “met” Stevie Wonder, listening for the first time to his “Overjoyed” and falling enchanted by his music and his way of singing. From here on Stevie Wonder will become one of Gabriele’s principal inspirer and model.
-In 1999, at the age of 13, he records the song “Il Salvataggio”, written by his father, for the contest “A Song For Peace In The World” organized in view of the Jubilee 2000, in Rome.
-In 2002 he records the song “Una Partita Per Sognare” (M.Iossa, S.Aprile), testimonial song for the event “Una Partita Del Cuore” in the year 2001, for charity to the Cardiology Ward of the Santobono Hospital, in Naples. In the same year Gabriele starts to write songs with his father.
-In 2003 Gabriele is finalist to the third edition of the music festival Premio Benjamino Esposito in which he sings with his friend Francesca Di Cresce at the theatre Augusteo in Naples; he’s just 16. During the same year Gabriele starts to write songs and music by himself, testing his skills also as a music composer and arranger. His father buys him all the necessary to record at home, and Gabriele immediately demostrates to make good use of it.
-At the end of 2003 Gabriele meet Alessandro Stellano and Vincenzo Di Girolamo, great musicians and friends; together they start the project “APRIL FOOLS”(www.myspace.com/aprilfoolsmyspace).
-In March 2004 Gabriele wins the auditions to enter the CENTRO EUROPEO DI TOSCOLANO(CET), by the italian author Mogol, as a SINGER, and starts following the lessons in May.
-In May 2004 he wins the musical contest “SENZA ETICHETTA 2004” in Ciriè(TO), winning a scholarship to enter the CET, which lessons he was already following.
-In July 2004 he graduates at CET as a singer.
-In December 2004 he plays Christmas songs for FNAC affiliates in Naples, in a concert voice and piano with Francesca Di Cresce.
-In April 2005 he is semifinalist at the “VIDEO FESTIVAL LIVE” in Rimini.
-In May 2005 he’s finalist at the festival “SENZA ETICHETTA 2005”.
-In July 2005 Gabriele takes Liceo Scientifico’diploma with the result of 100/100.
-In September 2005 he wins first and second reward (best project and best text) in the contest "PREMIO 29 SETTEMBRE" in memory of Lucio Battisti.
-In October 2005 he comes back to CET in the role of assistant at the lessons for Authors.
-In March 2006 he graduates as AUTHOR at CET.
-In March 2007 he partecipates at the Live Auditions of MUSICULTURA FESTIVAL, with his band, the APRIL FOOLS, in which he’s singer, author and composer.
-In July 2007 he partecipates to the Berklee Clinics in Perugia and wins a SCHOLARSHIP of 10.000$ to attend the BERKLEE COLLEGE OF MUSIC in Boston.
-In September 2007 he wins the musical contest "POMIGLIANO MUSICA FESTIVAL".
-In December 2007 he is one of the 12 finalists of SANREMOLAB, the Accademy of Italian Music.
- In 2009 he produces three songs in Montreal, "Nella Mia Città", "La Notte", and "Cattivo" (music and lyrics by Gabriele Aprile), with Vincenzo Thoma, Steve Galante and Simona Peron, a team of songwriters/producers who collaborated with the likes of Andrea Bocelli, Gino Vannelli, Rick Allison, Lara Fabian, Rock Voisine and more.
Currently Gabriele is studying Psicology at the University, going on in his path throught original italian music compositions helping him in a neverending journey inside his soul.
