Some things come round but once a year. And in the case of Futureboogie, we’ve tucked away a nice little collection of annual shindigs and hoedowns, from our yearly ventures to the Garden Festival in Croatia, FBR rave ups at Glastonbury and Lovebox, and our Summer Riot series, a fitting tribute to the end of Summer, with music that’s floated our boats during the warmer months.

Summer Riot III features a quartet of top talent, with top tracks to boot. Outboxx open up proceedings with the killer “Feel Your Love”. Sizzling 808 hats, a deep, low slung groove and filtering vocals make for a warm and classic sounding track, with some light acid bassline work tweaking over the top. Recent releases on Local Talk and Idle Hands are definitely making this Bristol based duo ‘ones to watch’ for sure. Pure heat from the lads!

The resident DJ at Leeds clubbing institution, Back To Basics, makes his debut appearance on Futureboogie. Buckley checks in with a rare original production with ‘The Red Road’ feat. Phoenix Pearle. A super and authentic slice of disco boogie, Pearle’s vocals soar over a musical hotbed of rising horns, slap bass and flute-work, evoking shades of Chic and Roy Ayers….

Waifs & Strays return to FBR after 2013’s ‘I Saw Yo Girl’ release. ‘Now Come’ is built around a subtle and moody sub-bass, its synth stabs and hanging string pointing to a little Detroit influence perhaps, coming over like more delicate Kevin Saunderson production but with no less the power!

Wrapping up this essential Summer Riot is a rather excellent and epic piece of deep house from Kemback AKA Geoff Wright. ‘Mistake’ is a great wind down composition, its pace and ambience could make this the surprise nugget on this package. The b-line takes on a life of its own, mutating and morphing, whilst the sweet melody worms around the solid woody beat. An awesome start for Kemback and his music.
